Kasabian – Can you feel it coming…?

Wednesday, January 11th, 2012

Kasabian’s UK arena tour is finished and we are getting all our content together to share. It was a heady mix of high-end 2D/3D animation, visual effects and live action. Each track explores the theme of music visualisation with real-time manipulation of content by sound, the band or the crowd. This collaborative project with Andreas Müller (Nanika) explores interactive animation, sound analysis, face tracking, audience participation, live social media elements and live camera feed translation. Check back soon to see how it shaped up.

In the meantime here is a little taster of the show…

“It was like watching the best telly you’ve ever seen — a massive concave screen with spectacular graphics reacting to the thumping bass and guitar riffs. Hats off to the team behind it. They’ve come up with something truly original.” – The Sun

Secret Sensory Supper

Wednesday, September 28th, 2011

Our night of audio and culinary adventure was amazing at the Masonic Temple in Liverpool Street. Based on the structure of a musical sonata, our MaSonic Supper consisted of five movements that shaped an experience of intrigue, participation and excess. We were invited by FranklinTill to host this night as part of the London Design Festival 2011. Full project documentation to come.

Le one’s that got away

Tuesday, December 14th, 2010

We’ve just designed the British Fashion Awards 2010 with illustrations by Le Gun. The direction was British, eccentric and often beautiful. We designed a huge, constantly moving, animated canvas to create a dense freewheeling fashion poem. The projections looked incredible at the star-studded event in the Savoy Theatre. Perhaps more interesting though are the illustrations that didn’t get through, the one’s that got away (our fave was ‘Victoria Peckham’)…

Summertime at Gelupo

Wednesday, July 28th, 2010

We treated ourselves to an ice cream from Gelupo this week. The identity/interiors looked class, created by our studio partners – Here Design. And yes I’m standing on a step because our intern, Rike, is so tall.

Nowhere / Aus Music

Friday, June 5th, 2009

Nowhere is an after-hours design collaboration between 4 designers/art directors from three design companies – Silent Studios‘ Nathan Prince + Oliver Davies, &Smith’s Dan Bernstein and Here Design‘s Mark Paton.

Our latest project is an album for Aus music– ‘All Night Long’

picture-52The title is both a play on the timeless House Music “All Night Long” phrase and an expression of the musical diversity of the label.  From the live dub of Sideshow through to the layered, undulating techno of Sian via the heart-warming, richly textured grooves of Lee Jones, the aim of the label has always been that you can play Aus music from dusk till dawn…all night long.
