Bally MW/SS/2012 Video Installation, Milan

Tuesday, June 21st, 2011

Here is our latest video installation created for Bally as part of Milan Fashion Week

Room 1 – The ‘triptych’ room (3x video projection walls): Close-up shots of flamingos, moving through frame from right to left encourage the flow of people into the next room…

Room 2 – The ‘flying’ room (1x video projection wall): Wider, epic shots. Edit starts with slow motion shots of flamingos running, then take off, then in full flight. In this room we hear the main music track: a beautiful orchestral piece that has a heritage, classical orchestration. For the most part a smooth piece to reflect the smooth nature of flying, with slightly playful elements that work well with the running legs and take off.

Le one’s that got away

Tuesday, December 14th, 2010

We’ve just designed the British Fashion Awards 2010 with illustrations by Le Gun. The direction was British, eccentric and often beautiful. We designed a huge, constantly moving, animated canvas to create a dense freewheeling fashion poem. The projections looked incredible at the star-studded event in the Savoy Theatre. Perhaps more interesting though are the illustrations that didn’t get through, the one’s that got away (our fave was ‘Victoria Peckham’)…

Walking Tall

Thursday, January 28th, 2010

Director Mark Jenkinson was commissioned to shoot a film celebrating the British Fashion Council’s 2th Anniversary. The holographic film of models wearing groundbreaking pieces from the last 25 years blurred the real with the hyper-real. Filmed on high speed cameras for slow motion playback, the 3D effect provided a dreamlike accompaniment to dinner in the Great Hall.

Royal Courts of Fashion

Wednesday, January 27th, 2010

The British Fashion Council and INCA Productions approached Silent Studios to design & art direct the holographic projection content for the British Fashion Awards, held at Royal Courts of Justice, London. We invited Manvs.machine to collaborate from the concept stage and together created all the animation content for the awards, including title ‘roses’ that animated from bud to full rose, introducing each award. Our in-house music wing Resonate created the sound design – a mix of warm, organic, analogue sounds.
